Destiny finished second in the Lafayette June Fiesta over Father's Day weekend. Although tied in points with 2 other teams, we allowed the fewest points against, which was the tie-breaker. Details of the tournament games follow.

Lafayette June Fiesta by Joy Peyton
The tournament began Saturday morning at 8 AM with our first game against the Lafayette Piranhas. It was a beautiful morning with a heavy breeze. The Piranhas were a large and aggressive team, playing in their home town, and the final score was 1 (Destiny) - 2 (Piranhas).

The first half was scoreless. In the second half, Caity made our goal 1 off a corner kick by Ashley. Caity followed the ball in and made the goal. Caity also made 2 other shots in this game, clearly the high shooter. Alexa made 1 shot. There were only 4 shots by the Destiny (compared to 11 by the other team)!

Ashley had 1 corner kick. Kathleen played goalie the entire game.

Our second game Saturday was against the AC Alliance. The final score was 0-0, although we made many more shots (9) and shots on goal (4) than the first game. Taylor played goalie the entire game. Shots were made by

Ashley (2)

Nicole (1)

Caity (2, both shots on goal)

Lissie (1)

Natalie (2, 1 of them a shot on goal)

Kathleen (1, a shot on goal)

Ashley had 1 corner kick

The third game, played Sunday morning against the Arlington Edge, was tied 2-2 (1-1 in the first half, 1-1 in the second half). We should have won this game! We made 10 shots, 8 shots on goal.

Alexa made the first goal off a corner kick by (I think) Natalie; my records show that she made all of the corner kicks that game. Colleen made the second goal, assisted by Ashley, who crossed to Lissie, who passed to Colleen.

The following shots and shots on goal were made:

Lissie (1 shot, which was a shot on goal)

Ashley (2 shots, 1 assist)

Colleen (2 shots, which were both shots on goal, and 1 was a goal)

Katrien (1 shot, which was a shot on goal)

Natalie (1 shot, which was a shot on goal, a well placed field kick after the other team had fouled)

Alexa (2 shots, both shots on goal, one of them a goal)

Allison (1 shot, which was a shot on goal. It was a beautiful kick from the other end of the field, which the other team's goalie caught)

Lissie (1 assist)

Natalie (4 corner kicks)

Taylor and Kathleen played goalie. Both of them played brilliantly throughout the tournament. In this game Kathleen made an amazing save in which she caught the ball at least 2 and maybe 3 times as the other team pounded the ball at her.

WAGS

June 8 Destiny tied 1:1 with MATT Sting. Ashley scored at the beginning of the second half with a setup by Caity.

May 31 Destiny prevailed over the FPYC Hotshots with a 1:0 shutout. Tara kicked the goal in the second half from a corner kick by Natalie.

June 1 Destiny tied the CSC Comets 1:1. Alexa tied the game in the second half with an assist from Katie (KitKat). The team has now played 6 WAGS games this season, with 3 wins, 2 losses, 1 tie.
